Poetry Camera pre-orders: Early access this Sunday, 9am Pacific
limited edition prototypes · $699 · ships this september · handmade by us in new york
Hey! We’re so happy to share a big update with everyone!
Next week, we’re going to open up pre-orders for limited edition prototypes of Poetry Camera, hand-made by us out of New York. $699 (no subscription!), shipping this September. Newsletter subscribers will get the preorder link early, on Sunday May 4th, at 9am Pacific. Thank you for believing in us, we’d be honored to have you as a customer :)
This version of the camera is new and improved in almost every way from the last version with a longer battery life, cuter design, and fully customizable modes.
This limited edition release is U.S-only for now, but please email us if you’re based outside the U.S. Depending on the amount of interest we get from different countries, we may adjust our plans.
This is a big moment for us! We’ve always wanted to get Poetry Cameras in the hands of everyone who wants one. To be honest, the limited edition prototype wasn’t our original plan. We were initially hoping to open unlimited preorders at a lower price point, and work with a factory on a full production run on a longer timescale… but then the tariffs hit, throwing all our plans out the window. It’s currently nearly impossible to guarantee the cost and supply chain of a large manufacturing run, especially as a small business with limited resources.
But every challenge can also be an opportunity. We didn’t want to just sit and wait for things to settle down. Instead of going the classic large-scale manufacturing route, why not experiment with new ways of developing hardware and bring our community along for the ride? Why not make a batch of prototypes ourselves, for folks who like being early? We’re setting up a Discord community for everyone who gets the Limited Edition, and we hope to foster a lively and creative beta community that can help us make the camera even better. If you want to learn a bit about how electronics are made, get a peek behind the curtain of product development, and help shape the future of Poetry Camera — come along for the ride!
If you want the final production-grade version of a Poetry Camera - skip this one! Stay tuned on the newsletter as we develop the Limited Edition and plan ahead for a future wide release.
P.S. Are you free on May 8th at ~11:30am Pacific? We’re giving a talk at Config about the journey of creating Poetry Camera. It’s a raw behind-the-scenes look at the real story of our creative collaboration. Register to watch online.
P.P.S. Are you in San Francisco? We’ll have 20 cameras with us you can buy ON THE SPOT. Contact us if you’re interested in purchasing one. These are local delivery only.
KK that’s all for now! More soon!

Hey! I want to buy poetry camera, but I want to train it on my own writing using an LLM that won't learn off of my work because as a professional writer it is my lifeblood. Do you have any suggestions of what software to link poetry camera too should I buy one so that it only uses my writing as generative input? I just want it to create poems from my original work.
